Drunk Hecklers and Souvenir Props

Reporting From San Francisco, California.

At our final evening performance of The Fabulous Adventures of Captain Queer at the New Conservatory Theatre Center in San Francisco, a young red-faced drunk heckler sat in the front row. The show and the audience were raucous, which the drunk heckler interpreted as an open invitation to add his own DVD commentary track to the proceedings. Thank god he loved the show and heckled positively——something akin to a call-and-response routine at a gospel church. My favorite piece of commentary from the evening: "This is so wrong, and I love it." He was pretty liquored up even before the play began. In fact, he started the night by heckling the bartender at the concessions stand. I suppose everybody needs a good warm-up before a show.

After our closing performance Sunday afternoon, I swiped the prop Orange-Flavored Cocksicle as a souvenir. Audience members kept taunting me: "I'm sure you'll put it to good use." I'm sure I will, perverts!

my flaky friend could not decide on a night, and then it was sold out. wah! :(
    congrats on your success!

  2. Aha! Will you use the cocksicle for the one you don't have?

  3. Noel, you have a running theme going in these comments. How long will you be able to keep it up?
