MC Lars: Nerdier Than You

I have always said that everybody is a nerd. You don't have to like comic books or Star Wars; you just have to have an obsession, and everyone does. For example, I am a porn nerd, among other things. But that's not what this blog entry is about.

After the JUKEBOX STORIES mini-tour of the East Coast, Brandon went on a nationwide tour as his bass-playing alter ego, Blak Lotus, in the nerdcore hip hop act, MC Frontalot. He was also wrangled into playing bass for another nerdcore artist on the tour, MC Lars, whose lyrics are ridiculously geeky and funny and whose music is irrefutably catchy.

While watching this music video for "iGeneration," if you're not singing the chorus by the second time it comes around, there's something wrong with the synapses in your brain:

Lars pushes rap to its absurd extreme in a song about—I can hardly believe it—Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven." I roll my eyes and laugh out loud when he sings:
Who's that (who's that) rapping?
Who's that rapping at my chamber door?
Mister (mister) Raven!
All up in my grill like, "Nevermore"

All up in my fucking grill like, "Nevermore"?! That's hi-larious shit! Check it out live here:
