This Is What It Sounds Like When Doves Cry...or Not

I wouldn't normally post something like this because it's just too damn cruel, but it's simply too amazing not to be seen. These are clips from lip-syncing TV performances by Britney Spears. However, all the sound has been turned off except for the microphone feed that she belts into, as she sings along with the vocal track. Heaven help us all:

  1. ok, i know someone who has recorded her and he said she cannot sing at ALL, and even though she clearly knows she's lip syncing in these performances and therefore she doesn't need to really do more than appear as if she's singing, it's clear (from a professional singer perspective) that her natural voice is terrible at best. it's all artifice, but apparently lots of people are willing to shell out a lot of money to suspend their disbelief.

  2. Oh, this is so crushing to hear. I just don't want to believe it. Dear Lord, make this not true, make this not true.

  3. LAP Said,

I think when she sings in the studio she's actually trying to control her voice, but when she's dancing etc she is focusing more on controling her limbs and facial expressions. Not to mention there's no way she can hear herself in a monitor or anything, which is why it's set up for lipsyncing anyway I'm sure..
I don't want to know what Zach really sounds like when he's dancing in the autograveyard either...

  4. I'm going to go with LAP on this one and just assume that she's not trying because she's focusing on her hot dance move. Yeah. That's it. Yeah.
