Arnold Schwarzenegger Goes Gay

Did you hear about this a few months ago (somehow I missed it)? After previously vetoing two same-sex marriage bills in California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is now speaking out against Proposition 8, which seeks to amend the state constitution to effectively eliminate gay marriage. Here's Schwarzenegger addressing the (ahem) Log Cabin Republicans:

Despite his past vetoes, Schwarzenegger has actually been generally supportive of gay rights.

And speaking of Proposition 8, I will be performing at a fundraiser to support marriage equality on Saturday, October 8, 2008, in San Francisco. Mark those calendars! Details to come.

[Thanks to for posting the video.]

  1. Not to defend Arnold, but when he vetoed those bills he said he did it not because he was against same-sex marriage, but because the voters had already decided against same-sex marriage with that earlier proposition that has since been struck down by the Supreme Court, and that it was not the legislature's place to overturn that proposition, but the court's.

  2. You love Arnold! Why don't you marry him?!
