New Contest! Leave a Comment to Win "The Soloist" (The Book)

As I've mentioned before, I have some goodies to give away. Let's kick things off with a nonfiction book that I would keep and read myself if I didn't already have a stack of literature I'm trying to get through.

THE PRIZE: A brand-new copy of The Soloist by Steve Lopez. "This is the true story of journalist Steve Lopez's discovery of Nathaniel Ayers, a former classical bass student at Julliard, playing his heart out on a two-string violin on Los Angeles' Skid Row. Deeply affected by the beauty of Ayers's music, Lopez took it upon himself to change the prodigy's life—only to find that their relationship has had a profound change on his own life."

THE RULES: Leave a comment—any comment—by Saturday, December 19, 2009, 11:59 p.m. If you don't have an ID you can sign in with, you can comment anonymously and leave your name or your initials; when I announce the winner, you'll know if you won and all you have to do is e-mail me to claim your prize. One winner will be chosen at random. Anyone in the world can enter, even those people who have won before.

  1. Comment #1: I love winning. Anything.

But, you can give this to someone else, because I already saw it and it's great.

Comment #2: Hello? We still have yet to see Pork Chop in his Halloween Brunhilda wig! (Slacker Dad.)

  2. It's time to put my perfect contest record on the line. I'm in!

  3. Wow, I want this book.

I just watched a classical benefit concert last week and I was really moved by it. So I think this book can also make a change on me... I will also share this book to my colleagues...

  4. i also have a stack of books to get through but that doesn't stop me from being greedy and trying to procure more.

  5. Yehey, I won! I have something to read this 2010...

    Merry Christmas everyone!!!

  6. Louise and Slacker Dad, well, we took a picture with Loren holding Pork Chop and the wig, but Loren doesn't like the way he (Loren) looks in the picture.... We did manage to get another holiday picture later (which you will see soon), and we'll have to try again with the purple wig when Pork Chop is a little more subdued. Man, he's such a diva!

  7. I just received it yesterday afternoon. Thank you very much, sir!

I deleted my comment on Jan.13. The book that I got on Jan. 13 was from Singapore. I thought it was your book, I'm sorry.

But then thank you, thank you. The book is so nice. Actually I have started reading it...

    Thanks a lot!
